The Australian Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water has granted EPBC approval to DP Energy for 430 MW Callide Wind Farm located in the Calliope Range approximately 22 km north-north-east of Biloela and 75 km south-west of Gladstone in Queensland.
The Wind Farm will feature up to 70 wind turbines with a total capacity of 430 MW. Construction is set to begin in 2025, and once operational, the wind farm will generate enough electricity to supply approximately 130,000 Queensland households. The project will also contribute to Queensland’s goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 30% by 2030.
Headquartered in Buttevant in North Cork, and operating for over 30 years, DP Energy has enabled 1GW of renewable energy generation through 21 significant infrastructure projects worldwide. Currently, DP Energy has a 9 GW pipeline of renewable energy projects across Ireland, the UK, Australia and Canada.
