The Northland Deutsche Bucht GmbH has completed the installation of 31 monopile foundations for the first phase of construction of the 269 MW Deutsche Bucht offshore wind farm in the German North Sea.
The monopiles measures around 78 m in length while the transition pieces measures 26 metres in height. The project uses the 8.4 MW MHI Vestas wind turbines.
In addition to the 31 monopiles, 2 mono bucket foundations are to be installed during the 2nd quarter of this year.
The design, engineering, procurement, construction and installation of the foundations, inter-array cables, and the offshore substation, and the transport of the wind turbines will be taken cared of the Van Oord, while the MHI Vestas is on to the installation of the turbines.
The project will be connected to the BorWin beta offshore converter station.
