Senvion will continue to service the Nordsee Ost offshore wind farm, following a competitive tender.
The turbine supplier’s existing contract with Innogy, the operator of Nordsee Ost, has been replaced ahead of schedule by a new service agreement, which includes new service concepts such as joint service teams and sea-based services.
Senvion has been responsible for servicing the 295MW facility since installing its turbines in 2014.
The Nordsee Ost offshore wind farm is located approximately 30km north of the German island of Heligoland. It contains 48 wind turbines - Senvion's 6.2M126 model - that generate sufficient climate-friendly electricity to supply approximately 320,000 households and span an area of 24km2.
Each turbine has an installed capacity of 6.15MW and a total height of around 160 metres from sea level to the tip of the blade.
