CWHI has announced the completion of all monopile deliveries for the 1.1 GW Inch Cape Offshore Wind Farm, located off the Angus coast, Scotland, UK. The final batch of eight XXL monopiles has departed from CWHI's Qinzhou yard aboard the COSCO vessel “XIANG TAIKOU.” This final shipment concludes a multi-month delivery campaign comprising 32 XXL monopiles in total, with 24 units already arrived on schedule and successfully offloaded at the Port of Leith. Engineered and manufactured to meet the demanding requirements of offshore wind installation, each monopile measures up to 11.5 meters in diameter, stretches up to 103 meters in length, and weighs as much as 2,300 tonnes. These dimensions reflect the scale and complexity of the project, as well as CWHI's capability in delivering large-diameter, heavy-lift offshore foundations.
Situated off the Angus coastline, the offshore Wind Farm is set to make a significant contribution to expanding the UK’s clean energy capacity. As the final shipment departs for the Port of Leith, CWHI expresses its gratitude to the project partners, port authorities, and logistics teams whose close coordination ensured the successful execution of the delivery program.
The facility consists of 72 V236-15.0 MW wind turbines. Once complete, the project will be one of Scotland’s largest offshore wind farms, generating enough green energy to power the equivalent of half the homes in the country.
