Muirhall Energy Ltd, has announced that it is progressing with the construction of Priestgill Wind Farm, a seven-turbine wind farm, northeast of Abington in South Lanarkshire, Scotland.
The project was consented in 2020 and will have a generating capacity of 46 MW, capable of generating enough electricity to power over 44,000 homes. The Muirhall Energy team entered the site in September, accompanied by RJ McLeod as the main civil engineering contractor and Powersystems UK Ltd delivering the local grid connection works.
Priestgill Wind Farm will deliver a range of benefits locally, including a community benefit fund valued at approximately £218,000 (US$286,973)annually, for the operational lifetime of the wind farm. An Initial Investment Fund is also made available during the construction period, providing grants on application to community groups and local charities.
Sizewell C has reached financial close, securing GBP5 billion in export credit-backed debt and a GBP500 million working capital facility following its final investment decision in July 2025.
