AusNet Services has contracted Zinfra Pty Ltd to construct the grid connection components of the 530 MW Stockyard Hill wind farm, located in Western Victoria.

The wind project is owned by the Australian subsidiary of Xinjiang Goldwind Science & Tech Co Ltd. It secured grid connection through an agreement with AusNet and the Australian Energy Market Operator signed in May.

Zinfra will construct a 70km 132 kV transmission line and a 500 kV/132 kV terminal station to connect the wind farm to the grid and realign an existing 500 kV transmission line near the site. The company expects to start by the end of July 2018.
