Constellation, a part of Exelon Corp, has secured power purchase commitment for the 175 MW solar farm in Virginia from three off-takers.
The company will sell power and renewable energy certificates (RECs) from the Skipjack Solar Center for 15 years to Johns Hopkins University, herb and spice supplier McCormick & Company, and discount retailer TJX Companies Inc. The three off-takers will purchase power under the Constellation’s Offsite Renewables (CORe) retail power product. The company will purchase the output and RECs from the solar park and sell them to the customers.
The project is developed by sPower, a joint venture between The AES Corp and the Alberta Investment Management Corp (AIMCO).
