Commercial operation starts for 303 MW onshore wind project in USA

ALLETE Clean Energy, a wholly-owned subsidiary of ALLETE, Inc., has announced the commercial operation for the 303 MW Caddo onshore wind project located in southern Oklahoma, USA.  The facility is installed with 60 to 110 turbines that produce enough energy to power the equivalent of about 110,000 homes.

The output from the Caddo site is contracted to provide renewable energy to McDonald’s Corp., Hormel Foods and Oshkosh Corporation through separate renewable energy sales agreements.

Together with ALLETE Clean Energy’s Diamond spring wind site also located in Oklahoma both the wind farms serve 500 companies and produce enough energy to power about 210,000 homes. The Diamond spring wind farm has a capacity of 303 MW and is operational since January 2021.
