Intersect Power, LLC has announced the commencement of commercial operations at its Lumina Solar project in Scurry County, Texas, USA.
The Lumina project, with a generation capacity of 828 MWp/640 MWac, serves as a dependable source of solar energy capable of powering more than 243,000 homes for an entire year. Intersect Power owns and operates a fully functional 2.2 gigawatt solar + 1.4 gigawatt-hour storage portfolio in Texas and California.
To fund the project's construction and ongoing operations, a comprehensive portfolio financing initiative was implemented. HPS Investment Partners provided portfolio term debt, and U.S. Bancorp Impact Finance contributed Tax Equity. Coordinating Lead Arrangers MUFG and Santander Corporate & Investment Banking, in collaboration with Joint Lead Arrangers CoBank, KeyBanc Capital Markets, Bank of America, Helaba, and Nord/LB, facilitated the construction debt. Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP served as lead counsel, with Kirkland & Ellis LLP as special tax counsel, providing legal and advisory support for Intersect and its partners. CCA Capital LLC advised on tax equity transactions, Greenberg Traurig represented U.S. Bancorp Impact Finance, and Winston & Strawn LLP acted as counsel to the construction lenders.
