French floating PV specialist Ciel & Terre has commissioned the 70 MW solar photovoltaic project it has constructed for the state-owned developer China Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Group.
The project is located in the city of Suzhou, in the northern part of Anhui province. China Energy Conservation Solar Technology oversaw construction and China Energy Engineering Group Shanxi Electric Power Design Institute provided EPC services while Ciel & Terre, based in Sainghin-en-Mélantois, Italy, used its Hydrelio technology to prevent the accumulation of algae on bodies of water and minimizes evaporation for the project.
The facility covers an area of about 140-ha and consists of 110 V transmission line spanning roughly 18 km. It can generate up to 77.8 GWh of electricity per year.
