Cero Generation (Cero), an independent portfolio company of Macquarie’s Green Investment Group (GIG), has achieved the financial close of its first 70 MW agrivoltaic solar photovoltaic project in Italy.
The Pontinia solar farm is located in the province of Latina in the Lazio region. It consists of single-axis trackers, bifacial modules, and string inverters. Once operational, the solar farm can generate enough power for up to 47,000 homes. The project is targeted for commercial operation in the first quarter of 2023.
Cero was advised by Ashurst, and the banking partners were advised by Gianni & Origoni as legal advisor and RINA as technical advisor.
