Bright Energy Investments, a joint venture of Cbus Super, DIF and Synergy, has closed on the acquisition of the 180MW Warradarge Wind Farm in Western Australia.
The wind project will have 51 units of V136 turbines each having 3.45 MW capacity delivered in 3.6 MW optimised mode with tub height of 84 m. It has secured final development approvals including network access to the South West Interconnected System (SWIS).
The Warradarge Wind Farm will have a total output of 180 megawatt with a 50 per cent capacity factor – the equivalent of the average annual electricity needs of 135,000 West Australian homes.
The construction and equipment maintenance contracts have been awarded to world-renowned sustainable energy solutions company Vestas, with construction works to be undertaken by local sub-contractors. The project will be connected to a 10km transmission line from the wind farm sub-station to the network connection point near Eneabba that will be built by Western Power. The project is expected to commence operation by 2020.
