BPI leads financing for Aquila acquisition of 100 MW Portuguese hydropower portfolio from EDP

Banco BPI is leading a planned financing for Aquila Capital’s acquisition of 21 operational small-scale hydro power plants in Portugal from EDP.

The hydropower portfolio consists of 14 run-of-river units and seven reservoir plants located in northern and central Portugal with a total capacity of about 100 megawatts. It is diversified across 10 river systems and all plants have been in operation for several years.
