WA Offshore Windfarm Pty Ltd, a special purpose vehicle for the wind project, has submitted its proposal for review to the state's Environmental Protection Authority. The project will be built around 5.5 km from the coast of Preston Beach and Myalup and will have up to 37 wind turbines with each generating capacity of 8 MW to 15 MW.

Once approved by the state regulators, the construction of the wind project is expected to start in 2025 with target commissioning in mid-2026.
