The Australian Clean Energy Finance Corporation (CEFC) has provided AUD180 million (US$123.4 million) for the 227 MW Collector wind farm in south-east New South Wales.
The wind farm’s construction began on May 2019. Full commercial operation is expected in the second half of 2020.
The CEFC’s role as sole debt financier supports the accelerated delivery of the AUD360 million (US$249.6 million) project, which will use 54 V117-4.2MW turbines from engineering, procurement and construction contractor Vestas with 91.5-meter hub heights.
The Collector wind farm, being developed by Ratch-Australia, is located along the Cullerin Range between the Hume Highway and the Collector-Gunning Road in the NSW Southern Tablelands.
The plant is expected to generate 528-gigawatt hours of energy annually, enough to meet the needs of around 80,000 average homes.
