Microsoft Corp has inked an offtake contract with Atco, under which the company will buy the full output of a 37 MW solar park in the western region of Canada.
The freshly signed power purchase agreement (PPA) runs for 15 years and is tied to the Deerfoot solar project near Calgary, Alberta. The plant will be developed alongside ATCO's 27 MW Barlow project, both planned to begin construction this spring.
The project is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2022.
