Apex Clean Energy has secured the development approval from the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality for the development of the 75 MW wind project in Botetourt County.
Virginia regulators have authorized the modification of the permit for the Rocky Forge Wind project that was initially approved in 2016. Apex has been approved to build the wind project using 22 turbines of up to 680 ft in height.
The project plans to be operational by 2021. Dominion Energy Inc will purchase the energy produced from the wind farm.
