Alternergy Holdings Corp. has announced the commencement of commercial operations for its first international energy project, a 15.3 MWp solar photovoltaic (PV) farm with a 12.9 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) located in Palau.
The US$29 million hybrid facility is the largest solar PV+BESS project in the Western Pacific region.
With the completion of the project, Alternergy plans to expand its energy portfolio with additional projects spanning up to 1,370 MW of wind, offshore wind, solar, and run-of-the-river hydro projects. The company intends to develop these projects over the next five years.
