Alfanar has secured a loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB) to build the 547 MW Lanuza wind farm in the Spanish regions of Andalusia, Asturias, Castile-La Mancha, Castile and Leon, Galicia and Navarre. EIB has granted EUR44.2 million (US$49.3 million) for the project.
The EUR643 million (US$719 million) wind scheme is comprised of 21 wind farms with capacities ranging from 8 MW to 50 MW, that will be powered by a total of 163 wind turbines.
Alfanar has secured the individual projects in the third renewable energy auction in 2017.
