The Albanian Ministry for Infrastructure and Energy has launched a tender for utility-scale onshore wind power plants. The tender seeks individual proposals with a capacity of between 10 MW and 75 MW, from which the ministry will choose several projects with cumulative capacity equals to 100 MW. The announcement of the successful bidders is expected in the first half of 2023.
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has been supporting the Albanian authorities in the introduction of competitive procurement processes for renewable energy projects. Bidders are requested to propose sites for wind power-plant developments. To assist them, a wind siting study has been prepared, including suitability criteria for the selection of sites, as well as a preliminary high-level screening of no-go areas.
The deadline to submit qualifications is mid-June 2022. This will be followed by a request for proposals from successful applicants in the first phase. More information can be found here.
