Yara has announced that Aker Clean Hydrogen and Statkraft left the green ammonia production project that the three developed in Norway.
Yara stated that it will continue alone in the project and that Aker and Statkraft remain willing to collaborate with the transformations in the production chain in the future. The initiative provides for the total decarbonization of the Yara plant located on the Heroya Peninsula in Porsgrunn, a municipality south of the Norwegian territory.
Yara expects to obtain enough hydrogen to produce 20,500 tonnes of green ammonia per year, a volume that can be transformed into 60,000 to 80,000 tonnes of green fertilizer.
