American Electric Power (AEP) has started the commercial operation of its 998 MW wind farm complex located in Blaine and Custer counties in Oklahoma, USA.
The Traverse Wind Energy Center, constructed by Invenergy, will consist of 356 units of 2-MW GE turbines that have the capacity to withstand cold weather situations of up to -30 degrees Celsius.
The project is expected to produce up to 3.8 million MWh of energy per year serving customers across the States of Arkansas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma.
