The Asian Development Bank (ADB) and Fourth Partner Energy Private Limited (Fourth Partner) have joined forces in a long-term collaboration aimed at advancing clean and affordable energy solutions in India. The partnership involves a substantial loan of up to INR1.2 billion (US$14.7 million) to support the construction and operation of a 25 MW solar photovoltaic power plant.
Situated in Tamil Nadu's Tirunelveli district, the power plant is expected to generate an impressive 50.7 GWh of clean electricity each year. The plant will directly supply power to commercial and industrial customers.
By bypassing traditional fossil fuel-based plants, the project will help avoid the release of an estimated 41,700 tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually.
