Don Rodrigo 2, the 50MWp solar farm near Seville has now been fully commissioned. Developed by global renewable energy developer, service provider and wholesaler, BayWa r.e., it is Spain’s second subsidy free solar farm.
The project was sold earlier this year to German insurance group, Talanx AG. The solar farm has a 12-year PPA with Statkraft.
Don Rodrigo 2 will generate 100GWh of solar power every year – enough to power around 30,000 Spanish households. BayWa r.e. will continue to operate and maintain the solar farm on behalf of the Talanx Group.
