Meridian Energy has announced the operation phase of the 176 MW Harapaki wind farm located north of Napier on SH5 in the Maungaharuru Range, New Zealand.
The wind farm, which uses Siemens Gamesa SWT-DD-120 turbines, can generate enough electricity to power 70,000 average homes, covering most of Hawke’s Bay. It is now fully operational, completed within a month of its original target date and its NZ$448 million (US$268 million) capital forecast.
