Lodestone Energy has started generating energy at its 39.4 MW solar project in Kaitaia, New Zealand.
Lodestone Energy, the developer initiated activities in late 2022 and commenced construction in April 2023. The North Island facility, boasting over 61,000 solar panels, will supply 55 GWh of power annually to both residential and commercial consumers. This includes all outlets within New Zealand's Warehouse Group, a participant in Lodestone's initial portfolio phase.
In addition to the Kaitaia Solar Farm, Lodestone's initial capital program encompasses solar initiatives at Edgecumbe, Waiotahe, Whitianga, and Dargaville. While Kaitaia stands as the inaugural operational solar farm, Edgecumbe is projected to be commissioned in early 2024, followed by Waiotahe later in the same year.
