Saft to install 100 MW/200 MWh Battery energy storage system in New Zealand

Meridian Energy has selected Saft to construct the 100 MW/200 MWh battery energy storage system at the Ruakaka Energy Park on New Zealand's North Island.

The construction of the storage system is anticipated to begin in Q1 of this year and conclude in 2024. It is the initial phase of a project that will contain a 130 MW solar farm.

Saft will provide its 80 Intensium Shift modular battery containers and power conversion equipment. It will also responsible for the installation and commissioning and provide operating services for 20 years.
