Tender issued for 1.1 GW Renewable Energy Project in Kuwait

The Kuwait Authority for Partnership Projects (KAPP) with the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy has invited companies/alliances wishing to apply for qualification to participate in bidding to design, finance, build, operate, maintain and transform the 1.1 GW Al-Dabdaba and Al-Shaqaya Renewable Energy Project located in the Al-Shaqaya area, Al-Jahra Governorate, about 100 km west of Kuwait City, Kuwait. 

The project will export its production to Kuwait's electricity grid through a 30-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy. A consortium led by Ernst & Young (financial advisor), DLA Piper (legal advisor), and D.N. (technical and environmental advisor) supports project document preparation. Project developers are required to hold a minimum 15% stake in their submitted projects.
