PVH has partnered with Larsen & Toubro (L&T) to secure a solar tracker supply contract for the 2.97 GWp solar photovoltaic (PV) project located at Oxagon, in the NEOM region of Saudi Arabia. The PV facility will power the world's largest hydrogen plant.
The hydrogen facility will be established by NEOM Green Hydrogen Co. (NGHC) – a joint venture between Air Products, ACWA Power, and NEOM. L&T has been awarded the EPC contract for building a 2.2 GW AC solar PV plant, a 1.65 GW wind power plant balance, and a 400 MWh battery energy storage system under the power package. The company will also execute the construction of the infrastructure for the Kingdom's grid network, including three 380 kV switching stations, 306 km of 380 kV overhead lines, and underground cables required to support the project.
The project is significant in contributing towards the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's 2030 clean energy vision utilizing wind and solar power to deliver up to 600 tonnes of carbon-free hydrogen per day by 2026. The hydrogen will be supplied to international markets in the form of green ammonia.
NEOM Green Hydrogen Company (NGHC) and its partners have achieved financial close on the green hydrogen production project in Saudi Arabia.
