Russia's trading system administrator ATS recently announced the approval of 280 MW of solar, 35 MW of wind power projects and two 24.9-MW hydropower projects in its third renewable energy tender.

The government approved eight solar projects by Avelar Solar Technologies, a subsidiary of Hevel Solar, with a combined capacity of 95 MW. Solar Systems and T Plus won contracts for 50 MW and 135 MW solar projects respectively. T Plus won three projects wirt 60-MW, 45-MW and 30-MW capacity respectively.

Fortum OAO was awarded a 35 MW wind project in Russia’s Ulyanovsk Oblast.

Russia’s cumulative installed non-hydro renewable power capacity is expected to grow to 2.87 GW by 2025.
