ACWA Power has signed a SAR 985.13 million (US$262.46 million) power purchase agreement (PPA) with Uzbekistan's National Electric Grid for the Nukus 2 200 MW wind and battery energy storage system (BESS) project.
Under this 25-year deal, structured as a public-private partnership, ACWA Power will be responsible for the project's construction, ownership, operation and transfer.
The company added that the project's financial impact should become apparent after the first half of 2026. It underlined that the project is still in the development stage and that, should financial closure be reached, the total investment value could change.
