Haizea Delivers Monopiles for 2.9 GW Offshore Wind Farm in the UK
Haizea Wind Group has delivered monopiles to Ørsted for the 2.9 GW Hornsea 3 offshore wind project in the North Sea.
The monopiles have a diameter of 11 metres, a length of more than 105 metres and a weight of approximately 2,300 tonnes, making them the largest structures ever manufactured in the Iberian Peninsula and among the largest monopiles ever manufactured in Europe.
Located 160 km off the Yorkshire coast and 120 km off the Norfolk coast, it will be managed out of our operations and maintenance hub in Grimsby. The facility comprises up to 231 turbines that generate about 2,900 MW of electricity, enough green energy to power more than 3.3 million UK homes. An £8.5 billion (US$11.43 billion) infrastructure project, Hornsea 3 will make a significant contribution toward UK energy security as well as the local and national economy.
