Planning Permission Secured on Appeal for 31.5 MW Solar & Battery Storage System in England

Renewco Power has secured planning permission on appeal for its Hare Hill solar and battery energy storage project in County Durham, England.

The project comprises a 31.5 MW solar photovoltaic array and a 10.35 MW embedded battery energy storage system (BESS).

The Hare Hill solar and battery storage project was spearheaded through the planning stages by engineering firm Locogen, with additional legal and advisory backing from CMS and the Pegasus Group during the appeal process.

Once operational the facility is projected to power approximately 17,600 homes each year and offset around 13,050 tonnes of annual carbon emissions once online. Specific financial terms and a construction schedule have not yet been made public.
