Envision Energy Ltd, has acquired 500 MW of onshore wind projects in France from Velocita Energy Developments, an independent European developer, owner and operator of wind and renewable energy projects.
At the time, as we reported in mid October, Velocita sold, two of its onshore wind projects in Scotland (UK) to NTR. The 35-MW Airies project in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland, as well as the 11.5-MW Ardoch and Over Enoch wind farm.
The Airies project, which comprises fourteen GE 2.85MW 103 turbines, is expected to be commissioned at the end of this year; while the project in Kerry, comprising seven Nordex N90 2.5MW turbines, is expected to be operational in Q4 2017. The Ardoch and Over Enoch project, comprising five Siemens 2.3MW turbines, has been in operation since 2014.
We informed in May, that NTR and Envision Energy were set to acquire Velocita. Under the terms of the proposed deal NTR would acquire Velocita's assets in the UK, while Envision would purchase Velocita's assets in France.
