ENGIE Energía has signed a US$300 million loan agreement with IDB Invest for the financing of the Punta Lomitas Wind Power Project located in Ica, Peru. The financing has a term of 11 years and will be used for the development of the project.
The wind facility has a fixed capacity of 260 MW and would have an expansion of up to 36.4 MW. The project will consist of 50 turbines SG 5.0-145 wind turbines (7 additional wind turbines for the expanded capacity). The project would reach a total nominal capacity of up to 296.4 MW.
The energy generated by the facility is transferred to the National Interconnected Electric System (SEIN) through a 60 km electrical transmission line.
Abengoa has been selected for the construction of an electric transmission line that will allow the energy from the future Punta Lomitas wind farm of 260 MW located in the southern region of Ica, Peru.
