Demeter Partners recives €50M for energy & environment fund

Demeter Partners has raised a total of €50 million (US$56.9 million) in commitments for Demeter 4 INFRA, its forth fund focused on infrastructure investments.

The fund is targeting a €100 million final close, to be invested as equity and quasi equity in French projects for the vast majority of them (80%).

Demeter 4 INFRA is an FPCI, “Fonds Professionnel de Capital Investissement”, investing in ready-tobuild projects as well as projects already in operation. Targeted assets will be renewable energy plants, waste and water treatments facilities, as well as energy efficiency projects (heating networks, eco-mobility, energetic performance, smart grids, energy storage).

Demeter 4 INFRA is a logical addition to the suite of funds already managed by Demeter Partners: the FPCI Demeter (€105 million), the FPCI Demeter 2 (€203 million), and the FPCI Demeter 3 Seed Fund (€45 million).

For its launch, Demeter 4 INFRA enjoyed the support of five historic subscribers of Demeter Partners, and notably two financial institutions, Crédit Coopératif and Caisse des Dépôts, as well as one scientific partner l’Institut Français du Pétrole et des Energies Nouvelles (IFPEN).

Six new investors, mutual insurance and life insurance companies, pension funds, industrial partners, have also subscribed at the fund’s first closing.

Demeter Partners is one of the European pioneers in Cleantech investment. Since its creation in 2005, the management company has invested in 60 companies in the sector and has created a solid network of industrial partners (developers in the renewable energy sector, large utilities and strategic players in the environmental industry).

The Demeter 4 INFRA team will be able to leverage this sectorial expertise and this vast network of relationships to source attractive proprietary deal flow and to benefit from valuable market information.

Demeter Partners currently manages 390 million euros dedicated to SMEs in the eco-industry and eco-energy areas situated mainly in France, Germany and in Spain, from the seed-fund stage to growth expansion.
