Judith Hartmann becomes Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of GDF SUEZ

Judith Hartmann has assumed the responsibility as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of GDF SUEZ. She joined the Group in early February, serving as special advisor to Gérard Mestrallet, GDF SUEZ Chairman and CEO.

This new appointment shows Gérard Mestrallet’s commitment to continue the internationalization of the Management Committee to further reflect the Group’s presence in over 70 countries.

Judith Hartmann’s mission will be to support the accelerated implementation of the GDF SUEZ business strategy, while ensuring the Group’s sound financial structure.

Judith Hartmann, an Austrian citizen, holds a Masters degree in International Business Administration and a Ph.D. in Economics from the WU Vienna University of Business Administration & Economics.

She began her career in 1993 in the Transport Department of the Canadian government in Canada. In 1997, she joined the Finance Department of Walt Disney Europe in France. In 2000, she joined GE where she held various positions in the course of a 12-year period: first in France in the financial department of GE Healthcare Europe, then at the headquarters of GE Healthcare in the United States, before becoming in 2004 Chief Financial Officer for a subsidiary of GE Healthcare, then in 2007 becoming Chief Financial Officer of GE Water Europe in Belgium, the Middle East & Africa (GE Energy). Appointed as Chief Financial Officer in Brazil in 2009, she later became Chief Executive Officer of GE Healthcare Latin America.

Finally, in 2011, she became Chief Financial Officer of GE Germany. From 2012, she served as Chief Financial Officer and member of the Executive Board of the Bertelsmann Group in Germany and as non-executive director of the RTL Group, and, since 2013 member of the Board of Directors of Penguin Random House LLC, of Gruner & Jahr AG & Co KG.
