Polska Grupa Energetyczna and Ørsted have selected a consortium of Ramboll Polska and Projmors Maritime Construction as contractors to prepare design documentation for 2.5 GW Baltica offshore wind farms in Poland.
The contract involves the second and third phases of the Baltica wind project. The Baltica 2 and 3 offshore wind farms have a capacity of 1,498 MW and 1,045 MW respectively.
The selected contractors will be responsible for preparing design documentation for foundations, turbines, internal cables and offshore power stations. The contract also includes obtaining permits for the maritime portion of the wind projects.
The Baltica 3 is expected to go online in 2026 whereas the Baltica 2 wind project will be commissioned in 2027.
RWE AG has contracted Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA to supply turbines for the development of the 350 MW F.E.W. Baltic II offshore wind project in Poland.
