The Correll Group has secured a contract with Hellenic Cables for the termination and testing of inter-array cables on the wind turbine generators and offshore substation for the 704 MW Revolution offshore wind farm in the US.
The Project located off the coast of Rhode Island, in the north-east of the USA is being developed by a joint venture (JV) of Ørsted and Eversource. The JV received approval of the project’s Construction and Operations Plan (COP) from the US Department of Interior’s Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) in November last year.
The facility consists of 65 units of the SG 11.0-200 DD turbines. It generates enough electrical power to meet the needs of around 350,000 average US households a year, as well as offset around six million metric tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions a year. The project is expected to be fully operational in 2025.
