Commissioning started for 93 MW Solar farm in Australia

Enel Green Power has started the commissioning of its 93 MW Girgarre Solar Farm in central Victoria, Australia. The last of almost 170,000 solar panels has been installed and is set to begin operations in early 2025.

The solar farm, with a value of AUD140 million (US$92.4 million), will be situated approximately 50 km west of Shepparton, once fully operational, it is projected to generate approximately 200 GWh of energy per year. SmartestEnergy has entered into a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) to support the project, ensuring that the electricity generated by the solar farm will be supplied to its commercial and industrial customers.

The construction of the Girgarre Solar Farm was officially inaugurated in September 2023, following its initial announcement earlier that year. Beon, based in Victoria, was responsible for the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) of the project, with module supply by Longi, tracker systems by Nextracker, and inverters provided by Ingeteam.
