Chinese company acquires solar park in Ukraine

China-based company CNBM International Corp has closed the purchase of nearly 100% stake in Neptune Solar LLC, a Ukrainian solar farm operator.

Neptune Solar LLC operates a photovoltaic solar facility in Mykolaiv region with a total capacity of 29.3 MW. Fully operational since 2013, this project was previously owned by Activ Solar GmbH, based in Vienna (Austria).

The transaction has been given green light by the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine. According to sources the Chinese company is said to be interested in other solar assets in Ukraine.

Activ Solar built a significant portfolio of solar power generation assets in Ukraine before 2014. The Ukrainian portfolio of Activ Solar included parks in Crimea, which became part of Russia in 2014.
