Capital Energy advances in the development of the portfolio of four onshore wind projects in the region of Aragon, Spain. With a total capacity of 504 MW, the wind farms and associated power evacuation infrastructure will involve an investment of around EUR330 million (USD390.17 million).
The Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (Miteco) has released to public information the authorization requests of the Céfiro, Paucali, Arlo and Argestes onshore wind farms. Together, these projects will produce more than 1.5 million MWh of electricity per year, which is enough to supply electricity to 630,000 homes in Aragon. The wind farms will avoid almost 600,000 tons of CO2 emissions annually. The portfolio includes the following onshore wind projects:
Construction is expected to create up to 2,900 jobs and will have an annual economic impact of at least EUR4.3 million (USD5.08 million). Furthermore, 100 permanent jobs will be provided in the area during the operation and maintenance phase.
