The Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES) approved last week three loans, totaling BRL 1.3 billion (USD 340 million) to support the development of wind complexes with a combined capacity of 436.7 MW.
More details about the projects can be seen below:
The Chapada do Piaui 1, 2 and 3 wind complexes will comprise 247 wind turbines.
The facilities are located in the Araripe region between the states of Piaui and Pernambuco (Brazil).
The projects are developed by Chesf, a generation and transmission company owned by Eletrobras, and ContourGlobal.
The first phase was awarded with a 20 years term PPA in the Brazilian energy auction held in August 2013.
