BlueFloat Energy to develop 975 MW Offshore floating wind farm in Italy

BlueFloat Energy and Falck Renewables have joined hands to codevelop a 975 MW Floating Offshore wind farm off the northeastern coast of Sardinia, Italy.

The project, known as Tibula Energia, will consist of 62 floating wind turbines, with a distance from the coast ranging from 25 to 40 kilometers. The wind farm has the capacity to generate more than 3.4 TWh, equivalent to the consumption of over 900,000 households and will offset more than 1.6 million tonnes of CO2 avoided each year.

The project intends to contribute toward the objective of energy transition and represents an opportunity in terms of industrial development and new skills. The manufacturing assembly and installation of the project would generate up to 3,200 full-time jobs.
