US investment management company BlackRock Inc has acquired an additional interest in the Danish wind turbine manufacturer Vestas Wind Systems A/S with BlackRock's interest in the company up by 0.06% from 4.97%.
BlackRock now holds 5.03% stakes in Vestas that is worth about DKK 11.2 billion (US$1.8 billion) of investment with DKK1,134.5 (US$180.02) of Vestas' shares apiece. Considering the financial instrument, Blackrock's total position in Vestas is about 5.36%.
Vestas design, manufacture, install, and service wind turbines across the globe, and with more than 117 GW of wind turbines in 81 countries, the company has installed more wind power than anyone else.
As a structurally lean organisation, Vestas has offices in 24 countries and five strong regional sales business units in Northern Central Europe, Americas, Mediterranean, and Asia Pacific, and China.
The Danish Energy Agency has launched the tendering process for the planned Thor Offshore Wind Farm project. Thor will be Denmark's largest offshore wind farm to date with a capacity of 800-1000 MW when it is fully established and connected to the grid by 2027 at the latest.
