Argentina's renewable program awards 1.1 GW

Argentina's RenovAr 1 programme has awarded a total of 1,109 MW. The government received wind and solar lowest offers of US$49 per MWh and US$59 per MWh, respectively.

According to the energy ministry, the proposals included 49 bids with a total capacity of 3,468 MW from wind project developers, and 58 bids with a total capacity of 2,834 MW from solar companies. The remaining bids belonged to bioenergy and small hydro developers, which offered 53 MW and 11 MW, respectively.

According to sources, the average rate for wind energy was US$65.5 per MWh and the average rate for solar energy was US$76.2 per MWh. The wining bidders are the following:
