YPF (Yacimientos Petrolíferos Fiscales) is seeking financing from Inter-American Investment Corporation (ICC), a member of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) Group, for 100 MW wind park in Argentina.
The project invovles the construction, operation and maintenance of a 50 MW wind park and its associated facilities including a 19 km 132 kV transmission line, and an a second phase that will add additional 50 MW of installed capacity.
The park is located within YPF’s active Manantiales-Behr oil and gas field. The nearest towns are Diadema (15 km) and Comodoro Rivadavia (40 km). It is part of the Patagonian steppe ecoregion.
The financial plan for the project will include an A loan of up to US$100 million with a 9 year tenor, and a B loan of up to US$ 100 million with a tenor of up to 7 years. The loan will also include a grace period of up to 3 years.
The project will contribute to the development of renewable energy in Argentina by contributing to the diversification of its energy matrix. The first phase of the project will add 50 MW of renewable capacity to the national grid thus decreasing fossil fuel generation reliance; and by displacing approximately 127,970 equivalent tons of carbon emissions per year.
