HSH Nordbank is providing ABO Wind AG with long-term loans totaling approximately €160 million (US$188 million) for the financing of two wind parks in Finland and a project in Ireland.
The credit volume for the Finnish wind farm Haapajärvi with seven wind turbines (WEA) with 23.1MW and two existing facilities amounts to around €65 million. For the wind farm Ratiperä with its nine wind turbines and 27 MW, HSH Nordbank provides around €66 million. Both wind parks will be completed by the end of the year in order to benefit from the currently applicable feed-in tariff.
The Irish wind farm Milestone / Cappawhite B with four wind turbines and 14.4 MW is financed by HSH Nordbank with around €29 million.
Lars Quandel, Head of Energy & Infrastructure at HSH Nordbank, said:
"We are delighted to be able to build on the very constructive and trustworthy cooperation with ABO Wind AG from recent years. The company needed an experienced bank partner to finance the Finnish projects, which can deliver quickly. In Ireland this was the first financing with ABO Wind AG, but for HSH Nordbank the fifth in 2017. In this market, we will continue to see further potential in the future."
With a total installed capacity of more than 1,300 MW, the Wiesbaden ABO Wind AG is one of the most successful wind farm developers in Europe. Founded in 1996, the company has more than 400 employees.
