The SUSI Renewable Energy Fund II (SUSI RE II), managed by SUSI Partners AG (SUSI), has purchased the 10.35 MW wind farm Tetrituuli in Central Finland from wind power developer Ilmatar Windpower Plc. (Ilmatar).
After the acquisition of 21 MW wind farm Kopsa I and 18.5 MW wind farm Latamaki, this marks SUSI’s third renewable energy transaction in Finland, strengthening its position in the Finnish wind market.
The ready-to-build wind farm features 3 Vestas V126 3.45 MW turbines with a total installed capacity of 10.35 MW. It will generate an annual output of around 32 GWh for 22 years starting in early 2018, providing clean energy for over 8,000 four-person households. This will lead to emission savings of approximately 11,000 tons of CO2 each year.
The Tetrituuli wind farm was developed by Ilmatar, a Finnish wind developer and long-time partner of SUSI. Ilmatar will also coordinate the construction of the wind farm, scheduled for grid connection before end of 2017. Ilmatar’s Technical and Commercial Management subsidiary, Ilmatar Service Oy, will further provide the asset management of the wind farm during operations.
Otto von Troschke, CIO of SUSI Partners, comments:
"The fast follow-on acquisition of our third project in Finland illustrates well that SUSI can count on strong relationships with established partners in the market like Ilmatar. We are excited to add the Tetrituuli wind farm, which further enhances our portfolio diversification, and are looking forward to realizing further transactions in the Finnish renewable energy and energy efficiency markets."
Mikko Toivanen, Head of Construction and TCM, adds:
“We are very pleased to work with our valued partner SUSI on yet another joint project, and look forward to both constructing and operating the wind farm with our proactive and local approach resulting in superior availabilities and financial results for all stakeholders.”
