A total of 20 firms have submitted their respective proposals for the 750-MW Rewa ultra-mega solar power project to be developed in Madhya Pradesh, India.
As we reported in January 2016, the International Finance Corporation (IFC) is supporting the government of Madhya Pradesh to set up the 750 MW Rewa ultra-mega solar power project. This will be the largest single-site solar power project in the world.
The solar plant involves three segments of 250 MW each, spread over 1,500 hectares of land in Gurh tehsil of Rewa district and is will cover five villages of Barseta in the district.
Among the group of bidding teams, SBG Clean Tech, Enel Green Power Renew Power and Rosepetal, have submitted bids for developing the entire project, while two others have submitted proposals for developing 500 MWs. The remaining 14 have submitted proposals for developing one unit.
As part of its efforts to scale up private sector-led infrastructure development in Asia and the Pacific and boost support for clean energy, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) approved a new US$390 million financing package for ReNew Power to develop renewable energy projects in India. The financing will assist 7 special purpose vehicles owned by ReNew Power, the first of which has also been signed.
